The issue of ZTE died after the government declared that they already canceled the National Broadband Project, it was also appealed to the court that the case is already moot and academic after the cancellation of the project. After all the events that caught every eyes and ears of Filipinos, the controversy is now only history.
But again…
The administration revived it , not as National Broadband Network (NBN) but as Government Broadband Network (GBN). Inquirer.net reports that local telcos PLDT and Globe are on a wait-and-see status regarding the broadband project.
The DoTC created last month a technical working group to study how government can slash expenditure on telecommunications and improve Internet connectivity in the country.
The DoTC was directed issued by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to talk to local telcos regarding creation of the national broadband network.
Okay, let’s wait and see guys, definitely the GBN is a good project but i hope, it does not cost the same as the ZTE project where many pockets are waiting to be benefited or else everything that happened is not worth it.
